Aerodramatics carbon fiber side mirrors

First off, Aerodramatics doesn't actually make these, they just sell them. I don't know the actual manufacturer and have seen them for sale at a few other places. They arrived quickly, but my first impression was that they were cheaply made. My first impression was wrong, they are VERY cheaply made. The mirrors themselves are too small even for the miata. About the size of a motorcycle mirror. Mounting is easy enough for the driver's side, but you have to do some drilling on the passenger side. After mounting I found it impossible to adjust the passenger mirror where I could actually see out of it. I was unhappy and Aerodramatics offered me a full refund, but I decided to keep them untill I found something better. After 4 months they are beginning to discolor already. They also have to be taken off periodically and the adjustment screw retightened or they won't stay in place. Save your money, these are a waste.

Aerodramatics carbon fiber mirrors

I was very excited to receive these mirrors and install them on my 90. I unpacked them and they looked great. Nice quality. However, there were no instructions or pictures included. The website, however, did have a small write up about installation (without pictures however). I think that for a product related to one car (the miata), it would not take more than a few minutes to take some pics of an install step by step and include them to customers.

I finally figured out how they work and how they are to be installed and I was not happy. The base sits flush, but the mirror base does not screw in all the way to the enclosed screw base leaving a gap that looks "cheaply aftermarket." Also, it is very easily (I think) unscrewed and therefore stolen making me uneasy to leave the car. One optional mounting piece was included that could have been used, but the factory holes did not line up correctly. Perhaps I am asking too much, but for a specialized Miata aftermarket piece, I want factory like fitment and these mirrors did not offer that. The good thing is that aerodramatics (Nathan) always returned my emails and answered my questions promptly and offers a return policy (less 15% restocking) if not completely satisfied. Unfortunately, this time, I was not.
