Buck Designs stainless mesh grill

Available at buckdiamond.com. Best looking most durable grill I have found that does not require removing tow hooks. It fills the open mouth of the Miata nicely, protecting the radiator and A/C lines. The stainless mesh grill reminds one of the grills found on the Jaguar R Series / Bently / Cadillac V Series cars. Less than 30 minutes to install and less than 5 minutes to remove without leaving any damage. Would get another Buck Diamond Grill if I got a '06 Miata and if Buck has one designed for the new model.

Great product. High quality stainless steel with nice black surround. Came with instruction and parts used to install.

Hardest part of my install was getting off the tow hooks. There are 3 bolts for each tow hook. The front 2 can be reached fairly easy with a 14mm hand wrench. The 3rd I was able to get to with a socket from under the car. You will have to take loose some of the plastic. Pretty straight forward and I am no mechanic. The grille install went off without a hitch. Just read the instructions.

Wow what a difference. It makes the car look completely different. Make sure you have some extra zip-ties on hand. I used a few extra to make sure everything is going to stay put. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Buck Diamond Mesh Grill

This grill looked pretty nice after I first installed it, but after a year it doesn't look so good. The stainless steel grill was arrived unpolished with a slight gloss, and was trimmed in black vinyl. Now the mesh finish is flat and dull a year later, and even has a couple of specks of rust. The black vinyl has turned white.

A dull stainless steel grill with a white plastic trim is not very attractive and has little "bling". Was still worth the money for a year's use though.

Diamond forward grill. Stainless steel and extremely well made.

Dealing with Buck on this was a breeze. Excellent communications and very prompt delivery. I highly recommend buying directly from him at buckdiamond.com

I purchased the diamond forward grill for my new 2003 Miata. It was a simple install...about 10 minutes. Instructions were clear. If you like this grill and have not taken out your tie-downs, don't bother removing them. The grill attaches to them and covers the tie-downs nicely. It would be easy to remove. You will love the grill. I highly recommend it.

Buck Stainless Grill

Very well designed, best addition to the Miata to date. I had considered ordering the stainless mash used in fabricating this grill but after looking at the cost (very $$$) and cost of trying to cut the mesh correctly to size, the $125 price from Go-Miata was well worth it. I did have to make a minor adjustment on the grinder to get the grill to conform exactly as I wanted. This grill is made of high quality stainless steel.

Very happy with the grill. I left the highflow grill (from Moss) I installed last year in place just to double up as additional protection from insects, road debris, etc, but it will surely disentegrate long befor the Buck Grill does.

By far the best grille I have run across.

Stainless Steel link grill to protect radiator from flying materials and enhance visual appearance.

Excellent purchase and service, can purchase at small discount via ebay directly from Buck or can visit his website.

Initially installed according to the instructions on Buck's website and was not satisfied; grill had too much play and would move around (left and right edges of the grill were not pulled in tight to the opening). I removed the grill and purchase some longer tie staps from Home Depot (18" or 24") and while still using the mounting poles (provided by Buck) used the left and right side structural plastic (can't miss it, it's black and extends vertically from the top to the bottom of the front bumper assembly and is readily visible in the "mouth" of the car). You must remove the Teeth on my model (2000 model year) first before installation per the instructions. After tightening up the tie straps and cutting off the extra, the look is incredible! The grill sits exactly the way it should, slightly forward profile, nice and snug all around and definitely gets noticed. Five wheels out of Five.

This grill installed in about 15" making sure it was properly lined up in accordance with the good instructions. On my '02 SE Ti, it simply looks great and other Miata owners think so too. I highly recommend as a must item to dress up your Miata.

The product is not the easiest to install but the fruits of your labor makes effort worth it. Installation is by no means hard but requires devising a way of mounting front license plate in states where they are required. I fabricated my own plate brackets which complicated installation.

I tempted fate by leaving my front plates off for a few months because the front was just beautiful. The materials used by Buck grilles are first rate. I had to install my plate on so I attached a bracket directly on to the grille. This is a necessary mod for Miatas.

Stainless mesh grille to fit in the naked opening Mazda left us with. Two styles - "original", which is recessed in the opening, and "forward" which fits further out in the opening, following the bumper contours. Also two styles of mesh - vertical, or diamond. I got a diamond original. At $129 it's a bit expensive, but absolutely worth it. Read on.

Outstanding service. Buck emailed at every opportunity to let me know of the status of my order. Installation is not a big deal, and Buck took great pains to explain, in great detail how to install the grille, warning of every possible pitfall.

This is the grille I should have gotten in the first place. As soon as I got "M" a year ago I took everybody's advice and bought a grille - one of the generic powdercoated honeycomb grilles which I think was originated by Moss. It never did fit well, was too flimsy, and even started to rust. Buck's grille is beautiful, very sturdy, fits snuggly, and holds its shape. Add to this one of the best buying experiences I've ever had and you can tell I am one enthusiastic supporter of this product.

This is without question the best value mod I have found. This actually improves the appearance of the M1 Miata. I live in Vermont where front license plates are required and the grill took a bit of fiddlin to get just the right fit. The fiddlin was well worth it. Buck helped me on the phone and though it took a bit longer then the advertised 30 minutes to install, it was well worth the effort. The major problem with the install was NOT the grill, it was me. I am not very mechanically inclined. I would recommend this grill too everyone interested in a high quality product from a very courteous, helpful, seller. This gets an A+.

A protective grille made of high quality diamond mesh designed to sit foward in the mouth of the miata. It has a black rubber surround to protect your nose and is secured by cable ties and plastic spacers.

This is a superb product. Buck obviously knows what he's doing. The Mesh is woven, not molded or cast. It is made of stainless steel so it will not rust. The cable ties that hold it place may seem kind of cheesy at first but they do an admirable job when used correctly. The service was truly stellar. Buck sent me an E-mail every time ANYTHING happened with my grille. He really cares about his customers. I think that the grille is worth every penny of the $107.00 purchace price.

The hardest part of purchasing this grille was finding Buck's Web Site. It is WWW.BUCKDIAMOND.COM. He does not take credit cards so you have to have a checking account or a PayPal account(free).

Easy to install, and on my 2001 the tie-down hooks DID NOT have to be removed. They are actually used as mounting points, making the whole thing solid as a rock. Fit was perfect.

This is the best looking grill I could find. I am more than happy with it. The "wire" that it is woven with is very thick. The forward mounting is very agressive looking, and changes the appearance a lot. Even my wife has commented on its beauty. I sent a picture for his web site.

Buck Diamond Design Forward Profile Stainless Steel Grill for the M2

An excellent product and excellent transaction. Buck is very helpful and answers e-mails VERY quickly. One of the best online deals I've had. The grill is high quality and looks great!

I had already removed the baby teeth (tow hooks) on my 2000 SE so I went right into the install of the grill. I was a bit over-enthusiastic and rushed things. The result was overtightening some of the zip ties. I had to cut them and install some new ones. The installation is really very simple. I printed out the text version of Buck's instructions which were 10 pages long! Very complete! If you know the procedure, you can probably install this grill in 5 minutes once the tow hooks are out. However, I'd suggest taking your time, making sure everything is fit properly, and SLOWLY tighten the straps while checking adjustments. The final product looks great, and I'd recommend this purchase for anyone wanting to add a grill.

Expensive, at $100 yes compared to the $30-50 junk that everyone sells. as a result of cost, this is not for everyone, which makes you unique, worth the price, will now order one for my other Miata as well.

This SS mesh grill adds a great flash to my Emerald Mica Miata. It isn't too loud, but I do notice it, and think it looks great!!! I am very happy with the product and would buy it again in a second. Buck (the guy who makes them) was very helfup during the process, as he was just ramping up his production. He even shipped me a second grill when the USPS misplaced mine for a week or so... I had one of the standard cut grills first, then upgraded to a diamond cut. You can see some pictures of my car here

Excellent design and very high quality components; received within days of ordering; fit is perfect for the M2;

Tow Hook Removal required. Once that is done the grill installation takes maybe 20 minutes.

Looks great! and it is functional; very little if any reduction in air flow as the spacing in the grill is nearly 1/2 inch square;

The grill has a high quality continuous vinyl edge which makes for snug fit. Instructions did not come w/the grill, but directions to the web site are provided where installation advice is given. Go to ftp//24.31.101.115/grill.htm for full info.

The grill does require bending at the center for the best fit. This should be done slowly and firmly allowing for a difference of around 1 inch between the center and the ends to produce the required bow effect. This procedure is explained on the website.

Side note fits perfectly w/the front mask installed--no interference.

What an agressive and functional look this has added to the front of my 10AE. Just what I had been looking for!! Thanks Buck!!
