Twin 12v horns, both about the size of the oem one. Bright red plastic but you can't see them anyway. Easy to install, needed some wire and blade connectors. Wiring schematic on the box even a non-electrician could understand (one terminal to ground (wire to mounting bolt) one from original power wire--use existing threaded hole opposite oem mounting site for second horn. Performance Products @ performanceproducts.com for $28.95 + shipping (sorry, Crazy Red). Now the Miata sounds like my Porsche! Do it and get rid of that "beep beep" oem excuse for a horn!

12V electric horns with coiled trumpet. Looks like old american car horns but trumpet is made of red plastic. Ordered for $28.80 + ship from Performance Products www.performanceproducts.com.

Easy to install. I had to buy 1 male and 2 female .25" blade connectors and use a couple of feet of wire to plug into the wire for the Miata's factory horn. You can use the bolts that hold the factory horn on to mount the new ones. There is an identical threaded hole on the drivers side that matches where the factory horn is mounted on the pax side ('99 LP). The factory horn mounts on a bracket and the bracket mounts to the car with the bolt exposed near the radiator when the hood is raised. You don't need the bracket with the Hella horns so you can use the bolt that held the factory horn to the bracket for one Hella and the bolt that held the bracket to the car for the other. I also soldered a wire from the neg. terminal of each Hella horn to it's mounting bolt so it would ground through it's mount like the factory horn. The whole install took less than an hour.

Much improved sound over the factory beep-beep motorscooter horn. One horn is 400hz and the other is 500z for dual tone sound. The ad in Performance Products claims 108 db. I have no way to measure that but they are loud and now my Miata sounds like a real car instead of a toy.
