PNEUMATIC LIFT ARM FOR TRUNK.

Just finished installing a TRUNK LIFT KIT from serious auto. (about 50 bucks after shipping) (and about an hour of my time but I had to do one step twice, see below.) now when I pop the trunk it opens right up, I think this is a pretty cool mod. Anyhow, Here's the heads up part. The given directions are pretty clear and the job is easy enough to do, but when your finished the trunk doesn't open all the way up and the lift rod doesn't adjust in length. (at least I could seem figure out a way) so after it was all installed I had to drill a second hole in the trunk hinge about a 1/2 to 3/4 lower than the where they stated in the directions.

My suggestion is to install every thing including the lift rod, prop your trunk all the way open, then hold the lift rod up against the trunk hinge and that's where you will want to drill your hole. If it wasn't for the visible extra hole in the trunk hinge this would look like a factory option. Just try'in to help if this trunk lift kit is on anyone's upcoming list of modifications The arm should be adjustable for different lengths so you can make the trunk open as far as you would like or redo the instruction manual with drilling options.

Over 30 minutes to remove completely
