Double hoop style bar with flat bar joining bottom of hoops (as opposed to open bottoms of Type II bar). Harness rings on flat sections. Fairly big diameter tubing is used.

Took less that 10 minutes to install. Great looking style bar. Very noticeable on car. Not for introverted types. Relatively uncommon since nobody I've met have seen these bars in person. Bought from RSpeed (great service by the way) for about $329. Seems to help solidify rear end of the car. Wonderful weld quality, easy maintenance. Adds to beauty of car more than anything as evidenced by number of admiring looks, stares, gawks, etc. Gorgeous!

No cutting required for installation. Under 10 minutes to install. Can be used with factory windblocker. Allows easy top operation.

Excellent!

Great looking bar. Not only does it look good, it actually seemed to tighten up the car! Some of the small rattles it once was possesed by are now gone. The car actually handles better than it did prior to the installation. A word of caution, instructions are in Japanese, so if you install it, make sure and look at the diagram closely. It is the seat belt pillars! No drilling or modifications of any kind are necessary, and it is one of the best bargains going. Oh yes, being a new Miata enthusiast, I had no clue how many looks, smiles, nice comments and questions I would be flooded by when people see the car. Definitely a modification worth the money, highly reccomend this product. FYI ... purchased from Rspeed, great folks to deal with, delivered when they said and the condition they said it would be received in. Unlike other folks I have dealt with, these folks are friendly, courteous and will take as long as you need answering whatever questions you h! ave! Excellent customer service.

Type II Stainless steel stylebar.

Arrived on time and was installed by me in about 5 minutes- even with the instructions in Japanese. The guy I talked to at Rspeed was fantastic-very helpful and fun to talk to.

The result for the car was increased stability as my Miata did not have a frame brace in the cockpit. And this frame brace has some penache! Looks great and turns heads.

Shelby Cobra-Like double hoop style bar

Looks awesome and took less than 15 minutes to install. Simply follow the illustrated diagram (included from RSpeed, K.G.'s N American distributor) and you're done.

If you are taller than I (I'm 5'10") you will have to get used to driving in a different position, as the seats do not fully recline. I am guessing you lose 1 1/2"-2" in recline. Several others have suggested finding a 5 degree graduated washer of some type-I would be interested in learning of their successes with this minor modification. Otherwise, why spend an entire day and cut up your car's interior when you can install a hot looking bar in 15 minutes?!?!

Quality of Style Bar was excellent.

I chose the KG Works Type II Style Bar as a result of reading many of the product reviews for this product as well as the other choices. I was not interested in modifying my car to install such and item...and as the KG Works product fit this requirement, it was an easy choice.

I literally used one tool, that being a 17mm wrench, to install this product. Overall install time was about 20 minutes, it looks great and I also was able to install it all by myself. On a scale of 1-10, my mechanical abilities are average or about 5. I'd highly recommend this product to others. However, I would point out that I waited over two (2) months for R Speed to be able to sell me one of these, as they are the exclusive importer of this product from Japan and only get shipments 3-4 times a year as I understand it. Ultimately, was it worth the wait, I think so!!

KG type II style bar, R speed

Easy to install and beautiful finish. I am 6' so I have to have my seat fully back and tilted. The bar interferes with the seat back. The bar is too close to the seat and in the event of a "rear end" accident, ones head would go crashing into the bar. Also the plastic covers on the seat belt column will not go back on when the bar is installed, however it makes it look kinda tough. I will try to put tapered washers in to tilt the bar back. If you are 5' 10" tall or shorter, this is an outstanding product. Any taller live with the inconvenience of the seat position and possible head injuries if rear ended.

From the top, Lock nut, 1st O ring, remove 2nd O ring, Style bar, K.G. washer, 3rd O ring, 4th O ring. Good Luck!

Type II Style Bar with polished Stainless Steel finish (not Chrome)

Purchased from RSpeed (Marrietta, GA) for my 2000 M2, no shipping required because I am local. Packaging was protective, and included bar, installation instructions, and 2 O-Rings. Polished stainless steel bar was virtually blemish free with good welds. I was very happy with the overall quality and substance. I purchased this bar because RSpeed indicated that no modifications would be needed for installation, and they were dead on! Installation took about 15 minutes. This bar installs by removing the bolts from the seatbelt towers and 1 bushing from each side. Bar and O-rings fill the space left from the removed bushing, and it is a perfect fit. I found no initial toggle, nor did I experience any vibration or rattling while driving. It was about 30-35 degrees when I did this, and I suspect that if it was warmer this would not have happened. Nothing alittle silicone sealent didn't fix!

Looks great! I think it looks more subdued than high polished chrome, and I suspect that polished SS will look better longer. I would highly recommend this Type II to anyone who is looking for that classic "cobra" roadster look. One note: Upon removing the Biege covers from the seatbelt towers, I broke all three prongs on one side, and two from the other (I was aware this might happen but couldn't prevent it). RSpeed was very helpfull, great vendor and highly recommended. This bar will fit most year Miatas.

Double hoop stainless steel style bar. See http://www.rspeed.net/store/item.cfm?category=22&partNum=808-009  for photo.

My Christmas present from my husband was the style bar of my choice. I knew I definitely wanted a double hoop bar with a highly polished silver finish. After a little research, I narrowed down my choices to the K.G. Works Type 2 Stainless Steel Style Bar, the Racing Beat Style Bar Type II Twin Hoop Chrome, or the Brainstorm Short Bar Twin Chrome. All three style bars have a comparable price tag of about $300. The features that sold me on the K.G. Works Type 2 bar were: * quality workmanship * aesthetically pleasing form * durable stainless steel finish * no cutting required for installation * ease of installation * high satisfaction level of current owners I placed my order with RSpeed and received shipment in two business days. I was impressed by the quality and beauty of this product. Instructions provided indicated how the bar fits into the seatbelt tower construction, and installation only took about five minutes.

This bar was installed on my 2000 SE. There is no interference with the hardtop, soft top, or factory boot. The capacity of the storage pocket between the seats is reduced after installation of this style bar. The factory installed windblocker required no modifications to remain fully functional. There is no restriction of seat motion in my Miata with this bar in place. What a quick, easy way to add an outstanding style element to your Miata! I highly recommend the K.G. Works Type 2 Stainless Steel Style Bar and RSpeed to anyone in the market for a double hoop style bar.

A double hump stainless steel style bar.(Looks close enough to pass for chrome)

I am very pleased with the quality and finished look of this style bar. It installs to the 2 bolts that are on the seatbelt pillars. No permanent altering of the car is needed. Even the factory boot fits with all the fasteners connected. Why spend 3 hours on a permanent cut/install when this provides the same result? The car feels much stiffer over bumps, so it provides functionality as well as appearance. The weight is about 10 lbs. My only complaint is that it limits the seat back recline by about 2 inches. I'm 6' so I have the seat slid all the way back and reclined as far back as possible. I will attempt to put tapered washers under the bar to tilt it back about 5 degrees which should remedy this. Otherwise, a great product!

The type 3 Style bar from K.G. Works is a style bar that is a polished stailess steel. The craftsmanship of the bar is outstanding.

I purchased the bar from Rspeed on a whim.

the directions to the bar were in japanese, but the diagrams were easy to decipher. the bar took less than five minutes to install and there was NO cutting involved. The bar has attachment points for a four point harness. I would recommend this bar for anyone who does not want to deface the interior of their car,but wants a style bar.

I love this stainless steel bar which is highly polished. No burrs and no scorch marks on it. the ease of installation was stupefying. I highly recommend this bar.
