Padded leather covered armrest for the M1 miata

Unable to buy it.

I tried to buy the padded armrest from LeatherZ given all the positive comments. However, after inquiring I was told that LeatherZ no longer sells them.

Custom fitted padded leather center console lid

My experience is extremely positive. Jon is great guy, and he does fantastic work at a fair price. As noted, his materials are top quality, and after a year in my car with the top down almost constantly, they look as new. I've seen his BMW embroidered pieces, and if you are thinking of having that done, you won't be disappointed. The leather feels great, and you can actually rest your arm comfortably on the console. In fact, you will want to, just to enjoy the feel of it.

Jon also does custom work. I have a KG Works short shifter in my car, and the ashtray lid lip was digging into the heel of my palm. I unscrewed the bottom of the ashtray, and reversed the top. Jon then added a double thickness of padding and covered the ashtray in leather. It may be hard to believe how such a small thing could make such a great difference in feel. Now my arm sits in a natural position, roughly parallel to the ground and my elbow against the rear of the console, and my wrist is very comfortable on its padded leather perch. I need not move my arm to shift-it can all be done by the wrist. That is perhaps my favorite modification of all. If I could do the whole interior in Leather Z products, I would. And someday, I might! Leather Z provides an exceptional product, and I highly recommend them.

LeatherZ recovers your existing Miata armrest in high quality leather.

I love this armrest. The quality of the leather is superb supple, smooth, great smelling, too. Notably better than my aftermarket Katzkin leather seats, with which I have been extremely satisfied. You will need to remove your armrest in order to send it to LeatherZ. This means you'll probably have to drive without your armrest for a week or two. But the quality of the leather and the immaculate fit and finish are well worth this minor inconvenience. They will also support embroidering in the leather, if you like. The only other minor shortcoming is that he is only doing black leather right now.

Jon Maddux (LeatherZ) was easy to work with. The work has a handcrafted and personal feeling to it. Contact Jon at www.leatherz.com

This is a completely re-covered console lid for your M1/M2. You send your existing console lid to LeatherZ, they cover it, and send it back.

Jon Maddux/LeatherZ has been a great company to work with. They currently do a lot of re-covering of BMW Z3 armrests, and recently decided to start doing Miatas. The armrest is covered with very nice leather, fits like a glove (no rubbing), looks OEM, and is padded with 1/2" of foam. It looks and feels great.

Leather is definitely less hot than the stock plastic bits. The added height is just right. I would *highly* recommend this product to everyone.
