CSF all aluminum radiator. $259 shipped

The fitment is subpar. The box was cut right in the middle, as a result, the fins were bent. CSF could have done a better job packing. The radiator is very light but it is very slightly twisted, nonetheless, it fitted. Had to trim the lower fan housing as it is too close to the lower radiator tube. Also, the driving side mouting hole had to be enlarged as it was off by 1/4 inch. The orignal radiator I had was not OEM and the upper tube was pointing outward in 90 degree angle where as the CSF is pointing down and toward the driver side. The difference was enuff for me to stick the back of the screw diver inside the tube and bend it toward the driver side slightly to be able to fit the 1.6 intake pipe. I was afraid the tube would collapse but it turned out the tubing was quite sturdy. It might not be a problem for other Miata as I have a converted 1.8 engine. Well, the good thing is there is no leak, it is light and cheap, and most importantly, there is no more rattle anymore!!

All aluminum racing radiator

Good so far.

I have the JRSC, JR tubular stabilizer bar, A/C,oil cooler. Was getting hot in traffic with A/C on (Fla 95 deg. days). Decided to go for the big cure. This unit is beautiful, but big. Had to do a lot of trimming on the fan shrouds to clear the stabilizer bar with my very crowded engine bay. But once in, it works fine. If I had to do it again I'd probably opt for the double row unit they offer which would probably do a good job and be a little less imposing. If you want the max, the racing rad is certainly all you can hope for.

Double core all aluminum racing radiator

OEM finally reached its life showing tiny stress cracks. No major installation issue except I had a hard time mounting the OEM fan as one of the 4 holes were off by a 1/8"? I almost decide to have just 3 bolts holding the part but I finally got it to fit. Too bad The drain plug is not in the ideal bottom center so draining w/o removing the plastic front cover will make a mess. Other than that, its a high quality radiator and the price is right. $259 right to my door. The car takes a few more minutes to warm up but stays cool in hot weather due to more coolant capacity. Its a killer buy.

David Harrison of G&L is very helpful and I requested my to be flat instead of polished. The product was well packaged and I highly recommand this product.

Update: [2/22/2004] Reviewed by: Timothy Chen

My previous review with this product was positive, however, I still have problem with leaking coolant from the cap and a new Stant from Napa was not the only problem. The top of the filler neck is not flat so the cap can not provide the proper seal. This is probably due to wrappage of the filler neck during the welding process. Its not worth saving the money and put up with the hassle of keep refilling the radiator every couple of days.

Save your money for the Koyo or FM radiator. Not worth the trouble. when I called G&L, Dave said they NEVER had this problem before...how many times have all of us heard that comment before. Lesson learned.

Double core all aluminum racing radiator

Great fit/finish - very easy install - came packed in styrofoam in box, well protected

G&L website is coolradiator.com ; or call 423-622-0641 and ask for David Harrison. Good looking all aluminum double core including cap, no tax/no shipping charge, total price $259.00!! after installing this radiator I went on a roadtrip into the mountains with 19 other miataphiles from so-calm, ran the air conditioning in 100 degree plus temps and needle never moved off of left of center, 5 in group overheated including an '03, '00 and '99. you only need to reuse the top and bottom rubber mounting gromets from the old radiator. Highly reccommend based on price/quality when compared to other alternatives.
