The Lo-Jack security system is not only a security system, but allows the vehicle to be tracked and recovered in the event that it's stolen.
I bought this system preinstalled when I took ownership of my used Miata.
I don't recommend this product for a few reasons. First, they are very expensive, and you have to have the system installed by a Lo-Jack installer, not yourself. My setup was $695! Second, there's a yearly fee ($99) for use of the Lo-Jack network. Third, there is no output for parking light flashing or for power doorlocks (no keyless entry). WORST OF ALL, the automatic arming cannot be diabled, which means you have to keep disarming every 5 minutes while working on your car! Lo-Jack is very annoying, very expensive, and not very functional.
