Dual two tone electric horn replacement for single wimpy stock horn

Horns came with all wiring attached and ready to install; but no instructions! A quick call, and they were e-mailed to me promptly, but they should have been in the box regardless. Easy install on my 03, took about 20 minutes, fits just right. Not the loudest horn I've ever heard, but sounds GREAT, just right for my Miata.

These horns can be bought cheaper at an auto parts store, but it was worth the price difference to have the mounting brackets and wiring all assembled and ready to go. I love 'em, highly recommended.

Two loud red horns that replace the wimpy stock one.

Includes two well built horns and the necessary wires and connector. Good instructions. Install was straight forward but it is complicated a bit due to fact that the area is hard to reach. Only real problem I had was disconnecting the old horn from the connector. Horns have a much better "big car" sound and are much louder. Highly recommend.

Serious Auto Wicked Loud! Horns

Dual high-low electric horns with relay marketed by Serious Auto Accessories.

I had been using a pair of horns from an early '80s Buick which I scavenged from a junk yard for under $20. After a couple recent close calls on the freeway my wife expressed a desire for something better. The Wicked Loud Horns were on sale so I thought I'd give them a try. The kit is complete down to nylon ties. The instructions were generally easy to follow although they seem to have come from an earlier kit because the configuration of the horn wiring was slightly different. For instance, there was no mention of the ground wire that was on the horns. And in the cure for a problem of the horns not working the instructions direct you to move the fuse to the unfused slot when it should have said to move the power wire to the unfused slot. These mistakes would be inconsequential except that the directions seem to be written to accomodate the complete novice and a complete novice would probably be confused.

In most of the reviews of this product the owners were apparently upgrading from the stock single horn and were mightily impressed by the Wicked Loud Horns. Well, anything would sound good compared to the stock horn! I, however, was way underwhelmed. The Wicked Loud Horns are not any louder than the Buick horns. They are not any louder than any of the Italian electric horns available from your local auto parts store or JC Whitney. Just go to your local pick 'n pull and get a pair of horns from any old American boat. Add a small relay and a little wire and you've still saved a good $40. Anyone wishing to upgrade from the stock horn should just go to their local pick 'n pull and get a pair of horns from any old American boat. Add a small relay and a little wire and you've still saved a good $40. I'll probably make some brackets long enough to drop the mouths of the horns down to the radiator opening. Perhaps that will make them a little louder.

Serious Auto Wicked Loud Horns

I just installed these horns on my 02 and boy what a difference! These are excellent sounding horns. No more wimpy horn for me! They installed in about 20 minutes with only a 10mm socket. Only "problem" was that they weren't shipped with any instructions, however that isn't really an issue since they are so easy to install and there are instructions on seriousauto.com if you really need them.

Replacements for polite-sounding stock horns. The Wicked Loud horns live up to their name. These sound nice too.

Installation was easy. About 15 minutes was all I needed. Have the horns for about a year and a half now with no problems unlike most airhorns that quit in a few months.

Love these things. Would buy them again.

A set of loud electric horns to replace the single, stock unit.

I just got finished installing the horns. They are much, much louder than the stock horn. I received them quickly and am very pleased with the product and service from Serious Auto. I did have some installation difficulties, though. To install the second horn, you have to temporarily remove the air bag sensor. Two bolts, should be easy, BUT on my '94 those bolts were rusted tight. While trying to remove them I broke the first bolt and then, even though I soaked the second in WD-40 and was very careful (or so I thought) to not over-torque it, I broke the second bolt as well. After breaking a drill bit and an "easy out" I finally just drilled out the holes and retapped them. So, a 30 minute install turned into a 2-3 hour install, plus a trip to the store to get a set of taps. Be forewarned, the air bag sensor bolts break very easily! Don't overtorque them and be sure to soak them with penetrating oil!

Replacement horns.

These horns install in less than 10 minutes. I ran with them for a week but then put my air horns back on. These horns are load -- much loader than the stock thing (not a horn really) -- but emit just a plain ole' horn sound. I much prefer the breathy sound of the air horns, which are also load, and have put them back on.

These horns are very easy to install, work as advertised (they are load) but I prefer air horns for the sound.

TWO loud electric horns to replace the ONE pathetic stock horn in the Miata. The only commercially available alternative I know of to air horns.

Everything was included - nuts, blots, washers, pre-wired, plug 'n' play. Nice clear instructions. My install was slightly different than described and pictured, but still plenty easy. As with many Miata projects I wish I had smaller hands when I was fishing the new horns into place.

I don't honk my horn often - living in a rural area it's more often that I'm trying to get the attention of a deer, or equally stupid pheasant - but when I do my life is probably in danger, since everybody on the highway is bigger than "M". I would get more attention by hollering out the window than beaping the bleeping stock horn. After reading Serious Auto's description and the comments on these pages I was convinced. After installing the Wicked Loud horns I couldn't be more pleased. Good product, reasonable price, easy install.

wickedly LOUD; not air horns

just finished installing the horns two hours ago, right before coming to work. man, a 20 min. job turned into a two hour fiasco. ten minutes into the task and i was already finishing up by tightening up the bolts when all of a sudden, POP!, and it just snapped off leaving the rest of the bolt screwed in there. i spent about an hour or so trying to get this out with all the tools i had. everything is just splendid now! couldn't wait to drive and test it! i remember when i first looked into getting some horns that i initially shopped for the air horns. but after reading the product reviews on the various brands, i knew that i wanted something that wasn't so high maintenance. on my way to work i could not stop grinning when i approached a mustang, integra, and navigator and shocked them out of their seats so unexpectedly. these horns are so much fun and i am so glad i did this mod. oh yeah, and the *speeding ticket discount* made it all the better!

installation simple. instructions great. more pix would've helped. DO NOT overtighten! this is one of the few products that actually exceeded my expectations. get these horns and you won't be disappointed. and the guys @ seriousauto? thanx. keep up the good work.

Electric automobile horns

Easy to install. Worked great for about 3 months. Currently not working because of a blown horn relay. I called and spoke with a rep. and he told me this is "common" and a modified wiring harness has been devised and will be mailed to me at no charge.

If this problem is common, wouldn't good service and intent include contacting me and sending this remediation before the horn is non-functional? I've already been thru the CRI air horns (crappy sound-frequent maintenance) and was looking forward to a reliable horn. Can't drive my car-I'm waiting on the kit.

"Wickedly" louder, two tone upgrade to whimpy, single tone stock horn.

Serious stands up to their name with this kit. Okay given it is not the most complicated upgrade but all of the necessary bits and pieces are included along with detailed installation instructions. The installation only takes around 30 mins ... longer depending on how nicely you run the new wiring. My only criticism is the use of the Left and Right terms when running the wires, it could be more clear. But if you can't figure that out you probably should not be doing it. As for the horns .... they are GREAT. The two tone sound is sooo much better than the single tone that is stock. Can talk about the volume?! Again Serious backs up their claims, they are LOUD. Given the large presence of the Miata these new horns speak volumes of what respect you should bet getting out on the roadways..

At only $50-$60 w/shipping & tax and the ease of installation all I can say is buy some your self!

I just installed these guys and I must say that I am very impressed. I had a set of FIAMM air horns before but the compressor crapped out after about a year and a half. These Wicked Loud horns are electric and they come preassembled with relay and mounting brackets already setup to bolt on the car. I had to modify the brackets a little cause I have a big intercooler in the mouth and they hit it, but install was really easy...no tapping wires or anything...it was all plug and play. Best of all is the sound...my Miata now sounds like a big ole Ford Exploder..really loud but not with the punny air horn sound...I never really like the sound of the air horns. I highly recommend these.

Standard disclaimer...I have no interest in Serious Auto or anyone...just like blasting dumb foos off the road -)

I strongly believe this is the best product I have purchased. I have had air horns, and other electric horns but these new horns are the loudest I have ever seen. My experience with air horns was that they deteriate in wet weather, living in the Pacific Northwest, I needed a loud electric horn. These horns really deliver! Don't waste time pulling parts in a junk yard! Buy a set of these horns and you will be very happy, trust me I know.

These are the dual electric horns offered by Serious Automotive. They consist of 2 rather large horns with mounting brackets and wiring for relays and power. They appear to be of quality construction.

The horns arrived extremely fast and well packaged. Install was very simple, I could have easily installed these horns without any instructions. You simply remove the plastic piece that covers the stock horn, unbolt the stock horn and place the new one in the original mounting hole. You then mount the other horn in the hole on the opposite side. Be sure to plug in the the relay wires between the 2 horns and plug in the stock horn wire before mounting the new horns. After that, you simply run and tie down your new power source wire to the fuse box and put the plastic cover back on. The kit comes with a pigtail fuse that plugs into your fusebox and supply's power to the horns.

These horns are very loud, like an old American car the way the ad reads. I consider the stock Miata horn to be unsafe and consider an upgrade in this area to be mandatory for myself. They are very effective at getting people's attention when necessary. I am extremely pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone who wants to upgrade their horn and is looking for other options besides airhorns.
