Adrenaline Racing Team 168 announces its selection by Miata.net

VANCOUVER, Washington-Adrenaline Racing Team 168 announces their selection by Miata.net as the official Open Track Challenge (OTC) entry for Miata enthusiasts.

Team 168 co-drivers Mike Wann and Eddie Nakato were chosen from amongst the multiple Miata entries in the event. Competing in touring class four-which entails them traveling from venue to venue in their competition vehicle--the team was selected primarily due to the fact that their car is prepared similar to what a many enthusiasts are driving on the streets today. Wann and Nakato will push their car to the limit at seven tracks in seven days.

They will be running a 1996 Mazda Miata outfitted with the following:

With their car in top racing form thanks to Coop's Miata in Maple Valley, Washington (www.coopsmiata.com), the team was thrilled when they heard they had been named both Miata.net and Cobalt Friction's official entry in the OTC.

"It's a great honor to be chosen by Miata.net as their official OTC entry," said Wann, "We've spent a lot of time preparing for this event both on and off the track and we're ready to take on this year's challenge on behalf of Miata enthusiasts.

Traveling over 1,400 miles between track events and competing at some of the most challenging desert courses in the West, the OTC is the ultimate endurance event.

Wann and Nakato are no strangers to the OTC. The duo participated in the inaugural 2002 event and placed fourth in their class and 39th overall finishing ahead of many competitors driving more powerful cars like the Chevrolet Corvette and Honda S2000
With another year of track experience under their belts, the team hopes to move even further up in the ranks this year.
"Last year's event was a learning experience for both of us," said Nakato, a racing veteran with over 2 years of track experience and a frequent participant at track events at Portland International Raceway. "Now that we know what to expect, we plan on pushing it even harder this year and showing everyone that we're a force to be reckoned with on the track."

Miata enthusiasts can follow Team 168's progress by visiting their OTC website at www.jolting.com. Both Wann and Nakato will be posting their progress on preparing and tuning the car along with daily recaps and commentary after each track event. Interested racing fans are invited to stop by and visit with the team at any of the tracks during the April 6-12 event. Check out www.opentrackchallenge.com to find out what track they will be at on any particular day.

The OTC is an endurance time trial event, which provides competitors in both street and track-only vehicles the chance to test their skills against some of the best drivers in the world while visiting some of the finest tracks on the West Coast during a single week. Following a day of time trials at each facility competitors travel from venue to venue either in their cars (touring classes) or with their competition vehicles in tow (unlimited classes). Over 80 competitors in ten classes will compete in the 2003 event. This year's tracks include the Spring Mountain Motorsports Park, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Buttonwillow, Thunderhill, and the Willow Springs International Roadway.
